GREEN C PORTS

Dear GME valuable customers and business partners,

Global Maritime Enterprises Ltd is proud to inform you of the participation in a very important EU project, namely “Green C Ports” which is co-financed by the European Union.

GREEN C PORTS is a global project aims to provide a suitable array of digitalization tools and techniques to support port environmental sustainability and performance of port operations in the TEN-T Core Network. This global project will reduce the impact of port operations on their cities, monitor emissions from ports and vessels, optimize the handling of cargo in core ports and facilitate access and egress of cargo in and out of core ports.

The global project ultimately aims to promote green, viable, attractive and efficient sea-based transport links integrated with the entire transport chain and its implementation will help to rebalance the EU’s transport system towards a more sustainable one.
The key objectives of the project are:

  • Reduce the impact of port operations on their cities
  • Monitor emissions from ports and vessels.
  • Increase the efficiency of port operations and optimize the handling of cargo in core ports.
  • Facilitate access and egress of cargo in and out of core ports.

In this vital project, four of the most important European ports are participating, being the Leading member in each country, namely:

  • Port of Piraeus, Greece
  • Port of Valencia, Spain
  • Port of Venice, Italy
  • Ports of Bremerhaven & Wilhelmshaven, Germany.

All above is under the co-ordination of Valencia Foundation between the project partners and the European Union TEN-T Core Network.

In order to achieve the best results, each port is supported by some key port users acting as their project partners.
